About Art notes
Art notes is a free art education resource platform created by art teacher Nilmini Jayasekara for Sri Lankan students and teachers, covering grades 6 through 13. We organize textbooks, past papers, syllabuses, sample artworks, and video lessons by grade so students can find what they need quickly, preview it before downloading, and learn from real teacher-made material.
Meet the creator
Art notes is created and maintained by Nilmini Jayasekara, an experienced art teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience, dedicated to inspiring creativity and artistic excellence in generations of students. She served for many years as an Art Teacher at Holy Family Balika Maha Vidyalaya, Wennappuwa, guiding countless students to develop their artistic skills and achieve academic success, and currently continues her passion for teaching as an Art Teacher at St. John Paul II English Medium College, Wennappuwa.
Follow on FacebookThrough Art notes, she shares carefully prepared lesson notes, lesson presentations, visual learning materials, practical activities, and other resources aligned with the Sri Lankan school curriculum - built to make art education simple, engaging, and accessible for every learner, while encouraging creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she began creating art learning materials as a form of community service, to support art students who couldn't attend classes in person, and shared them through a Facebook page and WhatsApp groups. Those materials spread widely among students and teachers across the country, and people have kept asking for them ever since - especially teachers. That's why this platform exists: to bring everything together in one organized place instead of scattered social media posts.
Where our content comes from
Government educational material - syllabuses, past papers, and similar official documents - is sourced from official public channels. Art tutorials, sample artworks, and other original teaching material are created by Nilmini Jayasekara. We keep these sources distinct so visitors always know the provenance of what they're viewing.
