Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Art notes is a free educational resource, and we try to collect as little personal information as possible. This page explains what we do collect, why, and how it's handled.
What we collect
Browsing, previewing, and downloading resources doesn't require an account, signup, or any personal information. If you leave a comment, you may optionally include a name - it isn't verified and can be left blank. If you rate a resource, we store the star rating itself but nothing that identifies you. We don't collect payment details, because the site is entirely free.
How we use your IP address
To prevent abuse (for example, someone submitting hundreds of comments or ratings in a minute), we briefly process your IP address for rate-limiting. It's cryptographically hashed before being stored - we never store or view your raw IP address.
Cookies and advertising
Art notes may show ads through Google AdSense and may use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Both are Google services and may set their own cookies to serve relevant ads and measure traffic. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in Google's own Privacy & Terms, and you can opt out of personalized advertising in your Google Ad Settings.
Children's privacy
Art notes covers grades 6 through 13, so some visitors are minors. No account or personal information is required to use the site, and comments only ask for an optional first name or nickname. If you're a parent or guardian with concerns about content a young person has posted, contact us and we'll review or remove it.
Third-party services we use
Cloudinary hosts our files and images, and MongoDB Atlas hosts our database. Google AdSense and Google Analytics may be used for advertising and site statistics. None of these services receive your name or comment content beyond what's needed to serve the page you're viewing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as the site changes. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
