A horizontal border strip in batik technique, worked in blues, violets and greens. Curling leaf blades alternate with round-bodied fish along the central band, framed above by a dotted register and below by a dark scalloped edge. The fine crackle lines across the top are the natural wax-crack texture of the batik process.
