Christmas art in a Sri Lankan classroom usually means the season's recognisable visual set: a star guiding travellers, a stable scene, candles, holly and red-and-green colour pairing, and the lantern and card-making activities built around them.
As a design exercise it is a good short study in a limited palette - two or three colours used consistently to create a mood - and in working within a simple, repeatable motif set, both skills that carry over directly into pattern and poster work later in the syllabus.
