Mughal painting (16th-18th century, under emperors including Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan) developed a refined miniature painting tradition blending Persian technique with Indian subject matter: fine detail, rich jewel-toned colour, and subjects ranging from court and battle scenes to natural history studies of plants and animals.
Mughal architecture - the Taj Mahal being the best-known example - is built on the same values translated into stone and marble: symmetry, fine surface inlay work, and formal garden layouts. If a question doesn't specify painting or architecture, a strong answer references both, since they share the same underlying aesthetic.
